About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mortgage Associate to join our team at Disability Solutions. As a key member of our Mortgage team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate setup and ongoing administration of mortgage files within agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Review mortgage documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Process disbursements, fees, and other account maintenance-related activities.
  • Action all legal documentation and notices of insurance cancellations.
  • Audit files, ensuring all requirements are met and are within operational policies.
  • Communicate with the Client Services Team and external contacts responding to transaction requests and inquiries.
  • Support your team in its overall operation, by working collaboratively with department colleagues and ensure that all tasks and projects are completed with integrity and in a timely manner.
  • Continuously seek and offer suggestions for operational improvement and efficiencies.
  • Investigate and resolve errors, including discrepancies identified by Internal Controls or the Client Services Team.
  • Maintain and develop procedures documents related to assigned activities.
  • Participate in department initiatives and projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Basic understanding of mortgages and related terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • High school graduation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Past experience in the mortgage industry is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of RRSP, RRIF, and TFSA rules is an asset.
  • Experience working with GlobalPlus or FIS Unity is an asset.
