- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls, and monitor and manage financial risks.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning process, aligning accounting objectives with the firm's overall goals, and manage and optimize accounting systems and software.
- Ad Hoc Projects and Reporting: Lead or support special projects as needed, such as financial audits, system implementations, or process overhauls, and provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to senior management or clients.
- Tax Coordination: Lead client intake, document collection, and coordinate with our EA or CPA to execute tax filings, and aid in year-end tax prep for clients.
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, and a preference for at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Skills and Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, staff, and senior management, and proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Wave) and Microsoft Excel.
- Leadership and Management: Proven ability to lead and develop a team of accountants, ensuring high standards of work quality and productivity, and strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Ability to analyze complex financial data and produce accurate financial reports, and experience in providing mentorship and training to junior staff members.
