Your Role:
As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Circle, you will architect, construct, and sustain Circle's infrastructure to accommodate our expanding global clientele on public cloud platforms across various regions. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that Circle's products and core systems operate consistently, efficiently, and with optimal performance. This role offers a unique chance to enhance your skills, collaborate with diverse teams, and engage in continuous learning within a vibrant and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate multiple development teams with an agile, responsive CI/CD platform to ensure high-quality builds with measurable performance and quality;
- Construct, maintain, enhance, scale, and secure cloud infrastructure and resources utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible;
- Automate operational tasks using programming languages like Go and Python, along with serverless solutions (AWS Lambda, Kubernetes Jobs);
- Design, manage, and monitor Kubernetes clusters for various production workloads;
- Advance our blockchain infrastructure by creating and managing blockchain nodes across a diverse range of blockchains including Algorand, Ethereum, Hedera, Flow, Solana, and Stellar;
- Participate in an on-call rotation to minimize disruptions to production systems and conduct root cause analyses;
- Plan and execute disaster recovery scenarios for a highly available microservices architecture;
- Collaborate with the Security team to develop and maintain security-focused tools and frameworks, ensuring a robust security posture;
- Mentor and engage with team members, contributing to the growth and scalability of the team.
Qualifications:
Senior Site Reliability Engineer (III)
- 4+ years in DevOps or SRE roles, emphasizing tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider;
- Proficiency in coding and/or scripting with languages such as Go, Python, and Shell;
- At least 3 years of combined experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD platforms while supporting agile engineering teams in building microservices;
- Familiarity with building Docker images and deploying containers in Kubernetes clusters, as well as modern CI/CD platforms with complex gates and workflows;
- Experience with distributed blockchain systems, maintaining blockchain full nodes, and various database technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis, OpenSearch);
- Knowledge of networking routing, DNS, load balancing, and edge networking;
- Strong skills in observability, troubleshooting, and performance optimization;
- Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to peers and stakeholders.
Staff Site Reliability Engineer (IV)
All the qualifications of a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, plus:
- 7+ years in DevOps or SRE roles, with a focus on tooling, automation, and infrastructure on a major public cloud provider;
- Proven experience leading teams in architecture and system design;
- In-depth understanding of API design, cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure), containers, and Kubernetes;
- Strong focus on coding standards and code quality, with a commitment to achieving excellent test coverage.
Additional Information:
This position is eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates. Circle is dedicated to fostering an inclusive financial future, with transparency at our core. We evaluate a variety of factors when determining compensation ranges and total compensation packages, including relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and organizational needs.
Compensation:
Senior Site Reliability Engineer: Base Pay Range: $147,500 - $195,000
Staff Site Reliability Engineer: Base Pay Range: $172,500 - $227,500, with an annual bonus target of 15%.
