Job Title: Nurse

At Hopes Home, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse to join our team at the Regina South Early Learning & Childcare Centre. As a Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care and support to our children and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to children with complex medical needs, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring of oxygen saturation and ventilator equipment.
  • Collaborate with outside agencies and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care and develop individualized care plans.
  • Conduct assessments and create care plans for children with complex medical needs, including those with disabilities and chronic diseases.
  • Communicate effectively with families and caregivers to provide updates on children's progress and health.
  • Participate in meet and greets, complete assessments of new children, and develop trusting relationships with each child.
  • Assist in new admissions, keep medical charts up to date, and document observations and information on progress notes.
  • Complete Ministry of Education medication administration, minor injury, and unusual occurrence forms as required.
  • Conduct narcotic med counts daily with a partner and ensure ratios are being maintained throughout the day.
  • Train staff on medical emergency protocols and collaborate with Public Health regarding communicable illnesses and outbreaks.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized nursing station and perform inventory and order medical supplies.
Qualifications:
  • Practicing License in good standing with the licensing body: SALPN, SRNA, or RPNA.
  • Up to date First Aid, CPR Level BLS.
  • Transferring, Lifting, and Repositioning (TLR) training an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric experience preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Monday to Friday workdays with varied start and end times between 7am and 5:30pm.
  • Physically able to safely work with objects or persons of varying sizes.
  • Fast-paced, noisy environment.
  • Work with adaptive equipment and technologies.
  • Work outdoors with the children in all types of weather conditions.
