As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in defining requirements and building solutions for products that bridge the gap for clients in Alternative Assets like Private Equity funds, Real Estate, Oil and Gas, and more.

The Team You'll Collaborate With

You'll join a team that's discovered an immense opportunity in Private Equity. Powered by our core cap table product, we provide real-time, intelligent insights into their investments and waterfall distribution. We're expanding quickly to fulfill the demands of this market, and we need your expertise.

As an engineer on this team, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams and disciplines to shape our product infrastructure. You'll gather requirements from top Private Equity firms and large enterprise customers to inform our roadmap. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing highly available, secure, and scalable financial platforms
  • Adhering to test-driven development (TDD) and maintaining high levels of code coverage and automation
  • Conducting timely and thoughtful peer code review
  • Leveraging logging and monitoring to improve observability
  • Instrumenting system performance and business metrics
  • Mentoring and growing junior developers
About You

We're looking for an engineer who deeply cares about their users and their problems. You're relentless in your pursuit to build delightful user experiences that wow the customer. You're energized by solving deep problems collaboratively.

We're seeking someone with 6+ years of full-stack or backend engineering experience, a desire to become a product domain expert, and experience working with complex SaaS products with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices. You should be passionate about some elements of our tech stack, excited to work with stakeholders across engineering, product, business, and marketing, and own an initiative end-to-end. Strong communication skills are a must, and you should be eager to move fast while recognizing when to build for the future.

The Interview Process

Carta follows a standard tech startup interview process, where you'll meet with a recruiter and hiring manager first. We'll then ask you to show off your skills with a real-world take-home exercise and virtual interviews.
