Pharmacist I Job Description

As a member of the Alberta Health Services Pharmacy Services team, the Pharmacist I will provide high-quality direct patient care as technicians and assistants function at their full scope of practice in drug distribution. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in an interdisciplinary environment where you can make a difference in patients' lives

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the client, physician, and interdisciplinary team to optimize patient care.
  • Utilize Additional Prescribing Authorization to optimize patient medication regimens.
  • Optimize therapy for acute and chronic disease management.
  • Empower clients in managing their medical conditions through promotion of healthy lifestyle choices, client education, and direct client care.
  • Facilitate smooth transitions between care settings for our patients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Additional prescribing authorization (or obtained within 1 year).
  • Hospital pharmacy residency.
  • Prior hospital experience or active in a direct patient care role.
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to use evidence-based medicine in direct patient care.
