Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct Communication Studies courses, focusing on business and technical communication and writing.
  • Prepare in-class and study materials for learners, utilizing experiential (task-based) learning methods.
  • Evaluate student progress and achievement, providing timely, formative feedback.
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and advice to learners, promoting academic success.
  • Stay abreast of emerging pedagogical issues and educational technologies, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
  • Attend department meetings and SAIT's instructor training program, fostering collaboration and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in Communication Studies, English, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-secondary teaching experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Graduate education and/or work experience in adult education would be an asset.
  • Good computer skills and experience teaching technology-enhanced courses are required.
