About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Specialist to join our team at PRT. As a key member of our nursery operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of our greenhouses and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on greenhouse equipment, including irrigation systems, heating and cooling systems, and other mechanical systems.
  • Facilities Management: Ensure that all facilities, including greenhouses, offices, and storage areas, are well-maintained and safe for employees and visitors.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as equipment failures or system malfunctions, and take corrective action to minimize downtime.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and preventative maintenance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including nursery operations and management, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance role, including carpentry and basic welding.
  • Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team; high level of sound judgment and reasoning skills.
  • Certifications: Valid Class 5 driver's license; certificates or training in electrical, pneumatic, heavy equipment, or welding and fabricating an asset.
