We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Care Aide to join our team at Embassy West Senior Living. As a Special Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our residents.
Key Responsibilities- Accompany patients on outdoor recreational activities and ensure their safety and well-being.
- Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, setting up and assembling of medical equipment to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of medical equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Supply and empty bed pans and maintain a clean and hygienic bathroom environment.
- Take patients' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse to monitor their health and well-being.
- Serve meal trays and feed patients who require assistance with eating.
- Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments to maintain effective communication.
- Make beds and maintain patients' rooms to ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
- Supervise patients' exercise routines to promote physical activity and well-being.
- Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as required by patients.
- Maintain inventory of supplies to ensure that all necessary items are available.
- Transport patients between care facilities to ensure their safe and comfortable transfer.
- Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher to ensure their safe and comfortable transfer.
- Answer call signals to determine patients' needs and respond accordingly.
- Collect specimens as required by patients.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Administer first aid in emergency situations to ensure the patient's safety and well-being.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field is preferred.
