About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Baker to join our team at Port Union Bakery. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of high-quality baked goods and ensuring that our bakery runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Management: Supervise and coordinate the production of bread, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods to meet customer demand and quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Train and mentor junior bakers and pastry chefs to develop their skills and knowledge, and provide guidance and support to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee the ordering and inventory of ingredients, supplies, and equipment to ensure that we have the necessary resources to meet production demands.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure that all products meet our high standards, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed, and that the bakery is maintained in a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a bakery or related industry
  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and knowledge of baking and pastry production.
Work Setting

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and fast-paced bakery environment, with a focus on producing high-quality products and providing excellent customer service.

Language

The primary language of work is English.
