Job Title: Drywall Installer

Gauthier Drywall Inc is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team. As a Drywall Installer, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, taping joints, and applying successive coats of compound to create smooth surfaces.

Work Environment

Our Drywall Installers work in a fast-paced environment, often at heights, in dusty and noisy conditions. You will be required to work in various locations, including commercial, institutional, and residential settings.

Responsibilities
  • Install drywall sheets, measuring, cutting, and fitting them to metal or wooden studs or joists.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering.
  • Install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 5 years or more of experience in drywall installation or equivalent experience.
  • Drywall Finisher Trade Certification.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
