You will oversee troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance for the CIVA compounding Facility.

Responsibilities Overview
Routine Maintenance and Calibration
You will coordinate and supervise preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs with external contractors, including:
- HVAC systems
- Utility and generator services
- Production support equipment
- Temperature-controlled devices (incubators, freezers, refrigerators)
- Compounding equipment (scales, inspection stations, torque tools, repeater pumps)
- Building and facilities
You will review and compile documentation of maintenance activities in compliance with good documentation practices, including:
- Calibration records
- Contractor service reports
- Logbooks
- Critical work orders
Facility Management
You will ensure that all facility functions are operational and fit for purpose, including:
- Addressing building and facility-related issues and requests
- Sourcing and procuring items and services for maintenance and repairs
- Managing routine building maintenance and pest control
Reliability Engineering Support
You will assist with reliability engineering tasks for critical equipment and services, including:
- Maintaining a master asset list
- Managing critical spare parts inventory
- Investigating equipment and facility failures and implementing preventive measures
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
You will maintain a safe and compliant facility, including:
- Ensuring adherence to local and Baxter EHS policies
- Conducting risk assessments for contracted work and verifying contractor qualifications
- Proposing solutions to minimize or eliminate plant hazards
Plant Support Activities
You will provide troubleshooting support for facility and building services, including:
- Offering out-of-hours support for critical facility issues
- Assisting the plant engineer with troubleshooting and repairs as needed
- Leading the plant engineering function in the absence of the plant engineer
- Providing technical support for project work and continuous improvement initiatives
- Delivering additional plant and building support as directed
Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical/Controls/Mechanical or equivalent trade/engineering qualification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a plant environment as a technician
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs
- Strong documentation practices and management of service logs
- The position requires hands-on capabilities in troubleshooting and equipment repair
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and computer skills
- Willingness to work occasional weekends or out-of-hours to meet plant demands
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Electrical/Controls trade license
- Experience managing various trades within a plant or facility
- Contractor management experience
- Knowledge of PLC programming and automation controls
