About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Shuswap Lake Hospital in Salmon Arm, B.C. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments
  • Enter data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs
  • Validate and report test results
  • Maintain instruments, prepare solutions and control agents
  • Contribute to training, evaluation and improvement programs

Salmon Arm is a beautiful town located in the heart of B.C., nestled between the mountains and hills of the Shuswap Region. Our hospital offers a range of services, including surgical, inpatient, obstetrics and 24-hour emergency care.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS
  • One (1) year recent related experience
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
