Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated Hatchery Technician to join our Freshwater Team. This role is crucial in supporting our operations focused on the early development and breeding of Atlantic salmon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily management of the rearing process for salmon eggs, alevins, fry, and juvenile fish.
  • Monitor and ensure optimal water quality within the Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS).
  • Conduct data entry and maintain accurate records in our inventory control system.
  • Support spawning operations as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in the early rearing of Atlantic salmon is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with RAS technology is preferred.
  • Strong organizational abilities and a commitment to maintaining a tidy work environment.
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with relevant post-secondary education in aquaculture.
