Position Summary

We are currently seeking a dedicated Hatchery Technician to join our Freshwater Team. This role is pivotal in supporting our innovative land-based aquaculture operations, focusing on the early stages of salmon development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily activities related to the rearing of salmon eggs, alevins, fry, and juvenile fish.
  • Ensure optimal water quality in our Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS).
  • Conduct data entry and maintain accurate records within our inventory management system.
  • Assist in spawning operations and related tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Prior experience in the early rearing of Atlantic salmon is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with RAS technology is a plus.
  • Strong organizational abilities and a commitment to maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preference for candidates with relevant post-secondary education in aquaculture or related fields.
