About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong foundation in metal fabrication and welding techniques. You will work closely with our team to design, fabricate, and assemble metal components, ensuring that all work meets the required quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with and participate in all C&A health and safety program requirements.
  • Comply with all Provincial Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Comply with all Prime Contractor Health and Safety requirements, rules, and regulations.
  • Journeypersons shall possess an Alberta Welding Certificate or Inter-Provincial red seal.
  • Apprentices shall possess the education level (High School Diploma) as mandated by regulatory authorities.
  • Pass CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) welding tests.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and welding process specifications.
  • Work to close tolerances.
  • Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal components using processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
  • Knowledge of metals, relevant product codes, regulations, and laws.
  • Knowledge of applied mathematics (i.e., fractions, measuring and geometry).
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
  • Determine welding procedures to minimize distortion.
  • Operate trade-related equipment.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract is preferred but not required.
