Job Summary:

The District of Saanich is seeking a highly skilled and certified Lifeguard to join our team at Saanich Commonwealth Place. As an Aquatic Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants in aquatic activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure participants are acting in accordance with facility rules and regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Lead activities, games, and events of interest to users, promoting a positive and engaging experience.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans to mitigate risks and ensure a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 10.
  • Minimum age of 16 years old.
  • Current National Lifeguard Service certification (Waterpark Option).
  • Current Cardio pulmonary Resuscitation certification – Level C with AED certification.
  • Current Standard First Aid Level 1 certification.
  • Over one month, up to and including three months of experience.
  • Satisfactory police information check.
