We provide exceptional healthcare services to a population of 300,000 across a vast region encompassing over two dozen communities and 55 First Nation's communities.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care, empowering individuals to achieve their functional goals and enhance their quality of life.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program is required.
  • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia is essential. Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists is also required.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in teaching clients both individually and in group settings.
  • Integrate best practices and current research evidence to inform professional decisions and actions.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, effectively conveying information to clients, families, medical staff, and interdisciplinary team members through oral, written, and electronic means.
  • Exhibit strong conflict resolution abilities.
  • Effectively analyze data from various sources to solve problems and make informed decisions. Apply critical thinking and decision-making skills using a systems approach.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, setting objectives, establishing priorities, managing time and resources effectively. Foster collaboration among the interdisciplinary team, supervise responsibilities of others, and collaborate across disciplines.
  • Cultivate a positive work environment by promoting staff morale, engagement, and risk-taking. Demonstrate creative planning for change and innovation, implementation of Northern Health policies or protocols, and ongoing professional development of self and others.
  • Foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including the use of Windows-based programs such as email and word processing, as well as data analysis skills using appropriate tools.
  • Ability to operate other related equipment as required in the specific practice area.
  • Possess the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
