About the Role

Koch Fertilizer, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Process Control Engineer to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a variety of Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) equipment and platforms, while applying engineering fundamentals and reliability analysis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of process control systems at our facility in Brandon. This includes day-to-day DCS/SIS responsibilities and supporting capital projects. The role also offers opportunities for training and development in engineering, supervision, and management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Champion and implement the KFC Process Control Vision in a collaborative team environment
  2. Support the development and maintenance of APC and Procedural Automation/State Based Controls
  3. Act as a subject matter expert for DeltaV DCS and SIS, PID Loop tuning, and other control systems
  4. Participate in larger KAES and Koch Industries community of practices and integrate their work at the Brandon site
  5. Contribute to the execution of I&C scopes for projects and reliability improvement initiatives
  6. Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, quality systems, cyber security, and PCN networking protocols
  7. Provide timely support to the operations/maintenance team in troubleshooting malfunctions and complex repairs
  8. Work with Maintenance, Operations, and Plant Engineering to determine alternatives and provide guidance during problem analysis
  9. Provide input for planning and scheduling of plant outages/turnarounds
  10. Review process control and safety control performance from the DCS/SIS screens
  11. Identify control improvement opportunities and advanced control opportunities that align with Koch's business goals
  12. Ensure safety controls are performing per design and participate in functional safety work
  13. Develop implementation plans to drive control performance improvements
  14. Integrate third-party control systems with DeltaV DCS
  15. Excellent work ethic, ability to work well in a team environment, and strong safety culture
Requirements
  1. I&C Engineering Degree or Diploma
  2. At least ten (10) years of experience working with process controls DCS/SIS, PLCs, design engineering, programming, process and analytical instrumentation, plant historians, and functional safety engineering
  3. Experience troubleshooting with process control systems
  4. Experience with computer-aided tools and software
