Key Responsibilities
  • Route Planning and Execution

Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment, GPS systems, and other navigation devices to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Teamwork and Communication

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with colleagues.

Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection

Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Cargo Handling and Security

Load and unload goods, tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo during transportation.

Documentation and Record-Keeping

Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, as well as maintain accurate documentation and reports.

Emergency Response and Repair

Perform emergency roadside repairs and respond to unexpected situations, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal service delivery.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Certifications

AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement are required.

Documentation Knowledge

Familiarity with accident or incident reports, bill of lading, dangerous goods occurrence reports, driver logbook, inspection reports, maintenance and repair reports, trans-border documentation, and trip reports.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, handling heavy loads, and performing repetitive tasks.

Experience and Training

Will train, and experience in the transportation industry is an asset.
