Role Overview:
The Event Security Supervisor will oversee the uniformed security personnel assigned to various high-profile corporate locations and events. This role involves supporting the Team Lead and Security Services management in a variety of tasks and responsibilities. The Supervisor will also conduct proactive patrols and respond to incidents at various facilities, ensuring a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that security personnel meet the necessary qualifications and training for their assigned roles.
- Verify that all guards are properly licensed, trained, and attired in the appropriate uniform.
- Coordinate and evaluate site-specific training for contract security staff.
- Conduct random assessments of guards to confirm their knowledge and performance align with company standards.
- Respond to significant incidents, ensuring that guards document their observations and actions accurately.
- Review incident reports for clarity and precision.
- Initiate disciplinary measures when required.
- Prepare daily reports for Security Services Management and relevant personnel.
- Utilize electronic guard tour software for patrols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience as a Security Guard in a municipal or corporate setting is preferred.
- A minimum of one year in a supervisory role is advantageous.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- A valid Security License for Ontario is required.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is necessary.
- A valid G Class License with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Physical demands include extensive walking and standing, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- Proficiency in using two-way radios and computer applications is expected.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required; bilingual candidates are preferred.
- Willingness to engage in professional development and meet on-site training requirements.
- Flexibility in shift availability is essential, as security operations run 24/7.
- Prior experience in loss prevention or security is beneficial.
- Completion of all required site training within 30 days of hire is expected.
- Successful completion of CPO certification within the first six months will be supported by the company.
