Clinical Laboratory Geneticist

We are in search of a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Geneticist to become an integral part of our esteemed Regional Genetics Program. This role is based in a dynamic and collaborative environment, focusing on providing exceptional genetic services.
Employment Type:Permanent Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive interpretation and assessment of genetic and genomic data, including the preparation of detailed reports.
- Analyze laboratory data to evaluate operational efficiency and productivity.
- Engage in regional, provincial, and national committees concerning laboratory practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of all laboratory activities and data, facilitating presentations and publications.
- Participate in training initiatives for laboratory personnel, students, and trainees.
- Contribute to Quality Control, Quality Improvement, and Quality Assurance programs to enhance laboratory operations.
- Doctoral degree with a specialization in genetics or genomics, supported by relevant publications.
- Certification as a Fellow of the Canadian College of Medical Geneticists (CCMG) or equivalent expertise in Molecular Genetics is essential.
- Additional certification in cytogenomics is advantageous.
- Proven ability to work independently while being a collaborative team member.
- Expertise in genome sequencing, cancer genomics, laboratory automation, and clinical bioinformatics is crucial.
- In-depth understanding of the laboratory regulatory landscape is required.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English is preferred.
