About the Role:

The Training Specialist is a key member of our team who drives safety, quality, and performance excellence through the implementation, support, and use of digital tools and technology, including POKA. This role fosters a culture of continuous improvement at Barry Callebaut Brantford, ensuring food and employee safety in daily routines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, facilitate, and update all training programs to meet operational needs.
  • Lead the development and deployment of the POKA Connected Worker Platform to enhance digital capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and Supervisors to identify and assess training requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training programs and systems for all shifts, promoting a data-driven culture.
  • Coach operational stakeholders to increase digital system capabilities through on-the-job training and coaching.
  • Implement methodologies and processes for reporting performance metrics, utilizing data visualization tools like POKA to create dashboards and support data-driven decisions.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities and track results, driving continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to gather requirements, scope, and business rationale for training programs and projects.
  • Meet/exceed requirements for food safety and employee safety.
About You:
  • Three to five years of experience in a Training role, required.
  • Post-secondary education in English, Journalism, or a related field, a plus.
  • Experience with POKA, including Microsoft Office and Google Workplace, required.
  • Experience in continuous improvement, change management, and problem-solving through quantitative, analytical, and process improvement techniques.
  • Exceptional organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, a must.
  • Technical writing experience, considered a plus.
  • Fluency in English, a requirement.
  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment, a must.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to stand on concrete floors for extended periods.
  • Long periods of computer usage, finger dexterity, and hand movement for keyboard and mouse operation, repetitive motion.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and temperatures, both inside and outside the facility.
  • Noise levels may exceed 85 decibels.
