About the Position
Our production team is currently looking for a Production Operator to join our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting the general maintenance of their work environment, ensuring the smooth operation of plant equipment, and handling containers and bags with care.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular maintenance of the work environment to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
- Lubricate plant equipment to prevent wear and tear.
- Handle containers and bags up to 25 kg with care and attention to detail.
- Operate a forklift truck safely and efficiently.
- Operate a valve bagging machine and perform daily maintenance tasks.
- Operate a bagging machine for one-ton bags (tote).
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
- Perform tasks on an as-needed basis with a focus on quality and efficiency.
- Learn and follow work rules and policies to ensure compliance.
- Produce accurate documentation and reports.
- Punctuality and attendance at work are essential.
- Capacity to:
- Climb steps and use ladders safely.
- Lift 25 kg bags repeatedly over the course of a day.
- Be sitting or standing for long periods of time.
- Work at height with caution.
- Bend, kneel, and squat as needed.
- Work in various environmental conditions, including hot and cold temperatures and dusty conditions.
- Work 12-hour shifts on weekdays and weekends, and work overtime when required by management.
Education or Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A safe work attitude and a commitment to quality.
- Respectful and positive communication skills.
- Basic computer and mathematical knowledge.
- Must be proactive and participate in food safety programs.
Additional Information
- Work in accordance with local/provincial legislation.
- Understands and is accountable for full compliance with safety and other EHS requirements.
- All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
- Relocation support is not available for this position.
