About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled High Performance Computing Architect to join our team at Roche. As a key member of our High Performance Computing team, you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering cutting-edge projects in the Science & Research domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture and engineering of HPC/scheduler configuration in collaboration with the informatics team to optimize scientific workloads
  • Develop tools for reporting and observability, ensuring clear performance visibility for job consumers and the overall platform
  • Evaluate new technologies in scale-out computing for scientific requirements to future-proof the HPC architecture
  • Collaborate with Roche architecture and strategy teams to balance on-premise and cloud resources for efficient platform operation
  • Contribute to global HPC team efforts in automation, training identification, and operational process enhancement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with HPC scheduler technologies like LSF, Slurm, or Gridengine, DevOps, cloud technologies, virtualization, Linux, and more
  • Experience in agile team environments (SAFe/Scrum)
  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills with analytical problem-solving abilities
