About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist to join our team at City Welding Sudbury (2015) Limited. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and setting up machines to perform repetitive machining operations, verifying dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, and preparing etching solutions for metal parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain CNC Machines: Operate and set up CNC machines to perform repetitive machining operations, ensuring high precision and accuracy.
  • Verify Part Dimensions: Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Prepare Etching Solutions: Prepare etching solutions and immerse metal parts or workpieces into the solution to remove unwanted portions.
  • Maintain Equipment: Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Enter Toolpath Codes: Enter codes specifying speed, feed, and cut of the toolpath for CNC machine tools.
  • Clean and Maintain Workspace: Clean and maintain the workspace to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Skills: Excellent attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and oral communication skills.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with CNC machines, laser cutters, and other related equipment.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and physical stamina to perform tasks.
