Executive Director Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned arts professional to lead the Burlington Performing Arts Centre as our next Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and success of a thriving arts organization.

About the Role

The Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the Centre, ensuring its financial sustainability, and fostering strong relationships with the community, artists, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance the Centre's programming and services
  • Leading a team of staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality performances and events
  • Managing the Centre's finances, including budgeting, fundraising, and grant writing
  • Building and maintaining relationships with the Board of Directors, community partners, and stakeholders
  • Representing the Centre at local, national, and international events
About the Centre

The Burlington Performing Arts Centre is a state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of downtown Burlington. With a seating capacity of 718, it hosts a variety of performances, including concerts, plays, and musicals. The Centre is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for artists, audiences, and staff.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in leading performing arts venues, with a proven track record of success
  • A university degree in arts and/or business management, or equivalent experience in facility management and administration
  • Excellent financial and organizational skills, with demonstrated leadership in human resources management, community partnerships, and fund-raising
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
