Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join our expanding team of experts in bridge engineering. Our group is engaged in a variety of significant bridge design and rehabilitation projects. We value a collaborative and inclusive workplace where creativity and innovation thrive.

As a Senior Bridge Engineer, you will leverage your extensive experience to oversee and execute multidisciplinary projects involving bridge inspections, analyses, rehabilitation, and design for both public and private sector clients. Your role will encompass all phases from initial planning to detailed design and construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and management of engineering deliverables for a range of bridge projects, ensuring they meet client quality standards.
  • Lead project teams in defining objectives, establishing work scopes, and preparing budgets and schedules.
  • Conduct complex engineering tasks with precision while mentoring junior engineers.
  • Prepare and review detailed engineering calculations, models, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical support during construction phases, including evaluating contractor submissions.
  • Collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Conduct inspections of existing bridges, coordinating with inspection teams and providing recommendations for repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage project pursuits, including budget estimation and proposal writing.
  • Handle project management responsibilities, including team assembly, budget control, and quality assurance of deliverables.
  • Work within tight schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Guide CAD Designers and less experienced engineers in their work.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in bridge engineering, including design, inspection, and construction.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers effectively.
  • Professional Engineer licensure in relevant provinces.
  • Proficiency in the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA S6) and familiarity with provincial standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of bridge engineering principles and design methodologies.
  • Exceptional technical writing skills for reports and documentation.
  • Experience with 3D modeling software, such as CSI Bridge or MIDAS Civil.
