Job Title: Registered Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive nursing care to our patients.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary part-time opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work at the Louise Marshall Hospital site of North Wellington Health Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of quality improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide patient-centered care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide emergency nursing care as required.
Requirements:
  • Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence.
  • BScN is an asset.
  • Membership in RNAO and CNA is an asset.
  • Current BCLS.
  • More OB.
  • ACLS or willing to obtain within months.
  • Maternal Child Course or relevant clinical experience for exemption.
  • NRP.
  • Cardiac monitoring skills (ECG application & interpretation, cardiac arrhythmia interpretation) or commitment to obtain within months.
  • Competent to start IV or commitment to obtain within months.
  • Competent in phlebotomy or commitment to obtain within months.
  • Certified for defibrillation or competent in months.
  • TNCC recommended.
  • ENPC/PALS recommended.
  • Ability to work in all areas of the hospital.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven organizational and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member.
  • Ability to assume a leadership/charge role.
  • Commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities.
  • Satisfactory performance and attendance required.
  • Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date.
  • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment including providing proof of full COVID vaccination prior to being hired.

We have current opportunities for full-time RPNs and RNs through the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN).

This program provides incentives (up to $) to eligible nurses in exchange for a two-year commitment to Groves Memorial Community Hospital and North Wellington Health Care (Louise Marshall Hospital and Palmerston & District Hospital).

To be eligible for the CCPN bonus incentive program, a nurse must:

  • Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired.
  • Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Begin employment no later than March,.
  • Commit to two-years of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer.
  • Not simultaneously receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.
