Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer and Finisher Apprentice to join our team at Oakdale Drywall & Acoustics Ltd. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality drywall installation and finishing services for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Work Site Environment: You will be working in a dusty environment, requiring attention to safety protocols and personal protective equipment.
  • Tasks:
    • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to ensure a smooth finish.
    • Clean and prepare surfaces for installation.
    • Cure freshly plastered surfaces to achieve optimal results.
    • Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required.
    • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to meet client specifications.
    • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency for optimal results.
    • Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to enhance the aesthetic appeal of our clients' spaces.
  • Weight Handling: You will be required to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) of materials and equipment.
  • Work Term and Language: This is a permanent position, and the primary language spoken in the workplace is English.
  • Hours of Work: You will be working 37.5 hours per week, ensuring timely completion of projects and maintaining a high level of quality.
