About the Role:

CAPREIT is seeking a highly skilled ESG Sustainability Specialist to join our team. As an ESG Sustainability Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our company's commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and capture ESG data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in drafting content for our annual ESG report, incorporating global standards such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
  • Support the development of sustainability and ESG content for internal and external stakeholders, including investors and regulatory bodies.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and best practices in ESG reporting and sustainability.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative ESG integration projects, aligning with our company's objectives.
  • Support the integration of ESG into our Enterprise Risk Management framework.
  • Develop and maintain ESG data automation and integration using IT tools.
  • Support process improvement initiatives related to ESG data capture, reporting, and controls.

Requirements:

  • University degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field, with a basic understanding of the commercial real estate industry.
  • 2-4 years of experience in the ESG space, with a focus on reporting and sustainability.
  • Specific experience in ESG reporting and GRESB submission is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of corporate governance, social, and environmental issues, with a preference for climate change expertise.
  • Postgraduate degree and/or sustainability-related designation is a plus.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
