About the Role

Wood Leaf Trading Inc. is seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team in a retail or wholesale environment. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing standard cuts of meat, as well as wrapping and packaging prepared meats.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat
  • Wrap and package prepared meats
  • Remove bones from meat
  • Weigh meats for sale
  • Grind meats
  • Make special sausages
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
  • Cut beef, lamb, pork, or veal carcasses or sides or quarters of carcasses into primal cuts for further cutting, processing, or packaging
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Will train
  • Food safety/handling skills
  • Manual cutting utensil experience
  • Sausage machine experience
  • Slicing machine experience
  • Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) regulations knowledge
Work Environment

This is a fast-paced environment that requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will be standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads. You must have attention to detail and be physically demanding.
