Homewood Health, Canada's leading provider of medically focused mental health and addiction treatment, is seeking a dedicated Therapist, Mental Health & Addiction to join our esteemed Trillium Program team.

As part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional care to patients experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Your empathetic approach and evidence-informed practices will guide individuals towards recovery and improved quality of life.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for mental health, substance use, problem gambling, and related concerns to inform treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group counseling utilizing a range of evidence-based approaches, including Motivational Interviewing, Stage-Matched Intervention, Trauma-Informed Care, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, and DBT informed practices.
  • Offer support and education to family members as needed.
  • Collaborate in discharge planning and safety planning processes.
  • Develop and deliver engaging psycho-educational sessions for patients.
  • Contribute to a learning environment by supporting volunteers, staff, and students through observation and supervision.
  • Liaise with referral sources and community organizations to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Assist patients in coordinating outpatient counseling and follow-up services.
  • Participate actively in quality initiatives and monitor relevant indicators.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a recognized Social Sciences program with specific addiction education.
  • Valid registration with the relevant college/governing body in Ontario, such as the Ontario College of Registered Psychotherapists (CRPO), or actively pursuing relevant credentials is mandatory.
  • Certification in Addiction Counselling (ICADC) or actively pursuing relevant credential preferred.
  • Membership with the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) or actively pursuing relevant credential preferred.
  • Gains experience working within a mental health and/or addiction treatment setting.
