About the Role:

Baker Tilly CK is a leading public accounting firm seeking a highly skilled Accounting Technician/Bookkeeper to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional accounting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide bookkeeping support to clients and internal professionals, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
  • Handle various accounting service assignments, including general ledger postings, account reconciliations, and report generation from accounting systems.
  • Efficiently manage compilation engagements, including direct client interaction for queries, requirements identification, and issue resolution.
  • Prepare corporate and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian bookkeeping and accounting practices, including GAAP and tax laws.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QBO, Sage 50, QuickBooks desktop, and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping applications like Dext or Caseware is a strong asset.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Flexibility to meet the unique needs of our clients, including occasional travel to client locations.
  • A team-oriented mindset and excellent communication skills.
