We are currently seeking a Project Controls Specialist to enhance our team.

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Project Controls Specialist will assist in all stages of the Turnaround lifecycle, including project initiation, estimation, funding, performance evaluation, and project closure. This role is essential to the Core team, aiming to positively impact the scheduling and financial results of the Turnaround projects. The Specialist will be adept in utilizing SAP, Excel, and other SAP visualization tools (such as Power BI). The ideal candidate will possess critical thinking skills, work autonomously, and deliver timely and precise information to enable swift decision-making by team members. This position requires the ability to confidently present data and mentor various stakeholder groups.

Essential Qualifications:
  • A Degree in a relevant Technical or Business discipline, or a Diploma accompanied by 5 years of pertinent experience
  • Outstanding proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP, particularly SAP Project System
  • Preferred: Certification from the American Association of Cost Engineering (AACE) or completion of related coursework
  • Demonstrated understanding of standards, practices, and procedures applicable to work activities
  • Exhibits coaching and influencing capabilities
  • Strong collaborative skills that foster positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues using a variety of standard methods, showcasing sound judgment in data selection, classification, and analysis
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to a dynamic array of internal and external partners
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain project work breakdown structures, networks, and activities within SAP
  • Create purchase requests with necessary documentation, vendor quotes, and in accordance with supply chain management standards
  • Input forecasts into SAP by designated deadlines
  • Prepare and submit month-end journal entries in alignment with financial standards and timelines
  • Compile, consolidate, and analyze project or program reports for all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with all financial policies, maintaining alignment with capital and/or expense guidelines
  • Facilitate the closure of purchase orders, financial close, asset listings for Finance, and SAP project closure
  • Safeguard the integrity of investment decisions by comprehending project scope and reporting deviations
  • Assist in formulating long-term plans and budgets to fully understand projected expenditures
  • Deliver detailed reports on funding progress, trends, and forecasts
Work Environment & Additional Information:
  • This position is office-based.
  • Standard working hours are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
