The Supplier Engineer acts as a technical authority for the TheraSphere team, overseeing and directing all facets of projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and materials, whether initiated by Boston Scientific or our Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners.

This role requires independent management and guidance on projects related to onboarding new service providers, while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver on business objectives for the TheraSphere product line.

The Supplier Engineering Team is tasked with providing technical leadership and resolving non-conformances, as well as implementing process improvements to ensure business continuity and the seamless integration of product and process modifications at CM sites, adhering to Boston Scientific's standards.

The Supplier Engineer will play a crucial role in spearheading performance enhancements for Sourced Finished Medical Device (SFMD) suppliers, ensuring they consistently meet Boston Scientific's stringent requirements.

This position necessitates a steadfast commitment to patient safety and collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams to guarantee that product quality aligns with customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead initiatives and projects with suppliers to pinpoint areas for enhancement and offer guidance for process improvements.
  • Evaluate and initiate projects concerning mass escalation and reactor capacity to ensure manufacturing capabilities are established to meet future product demands.
  • Facilitate and lead communication with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Regulatory, to align supplier performance with corporate objectives.
  • Oversee the execution of SFMD Engineering and Quality deliverables, collaborating with cross-functional new product development teams to contribute to the next generation of devices.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier-related issues, such as non-conformances, quality discrepancies, and delivery delays, in a prompt and effective manner.
  • Support product complaint investigations where supplied materials may be a potential root cause, maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all documented quality processes to uphold Boston Scientific's commitment to patient safety and product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Biomedical Engineering.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience as a Supplier/Sustaining Engineer.
  • Proficient in report writing and statistical methods, with a solid grasp of problem-solving techniques and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills at all levels, with strong technical writing and reporting capabilities.
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Experience with nuclear medicine and radioactive materials is advantageous.
  • Proven experience leading projects with suppliers and/or contract manufacturers.
