About the Role:

The Digital Content Strategist will be a key member of the GFL Environmental Marketing Team responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and execution of the company's digital content activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Craft compelling, engaging, and varied written content for all of GFL Environmental's digital platforms, in line with the company's brand voice and messaging.
  • Create and manage a monthly digital content calendar aligned with GFL Environmental's business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the Marketing Team's digital content workflow, ensuring timely and effective deployment of all digital content.
  • Manage the scheduling and deployment of all digital content, including social media, email, and website updates.
  • Coordinate the translation of digital content to ensure consistency across all languages.
  • In collaboration with the GFL Environmental Digital Marketing Team, inform the strategic direction of the company's digital content activities in line with the organization's business goals and objectives.
  • Explore opportunities for new features and content, staying up-to-date with the latest digital trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across GFL Environmental to develop digital content, including campaigns and initiatives.
  • Monitor digital metrics and performance data to optimize content strategy and improve engagement.
  • Assist the Director of Communications with strategic planning for GFL Environmental's communications channels.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or diploma in communications, marketing, content writing, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a professional communications, copy writing, social media, or content writing role.
  • Proven experience in digital content management or coordination.
  • Exceptional writing, language, and proofreading skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Clear and effective communicator.
  • Creative, resourceful storyteller.
  • Able to handle a fast-paced environment and work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong sense of initiative and drive, excellent organizational skills, able to work independently or in a team.
  • Project management skills an asset.
  • Supervisory experience an asset.
  • Must be able to work remotely.
