Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our team at Matthew Halton School in Pincher Creek, Alberta. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse needs, fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment, and contributing to the school's mission of providing exceptional education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs, including those with Autism and other diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Support Team to develop and implement strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Contribute to the overall well-being and success of students, promoting a positive and inclusive school culture.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students in one-on-one, small group, and inclusive classroom settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with students who require patience and flexibility.
  • Experience and training in working with students with different diagnoses, including Autism and complex needs.
  • Physical fitness to keep up with the demands of working with students with complex needs.
  • Education Assistant certification and/or Health Care Aide certification or equivalent would be an asset.
  • NVCI and/or SIVA training would be an asset.
