Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Temporary part-time Registered Nurse to contribute to our dedicated Donor Centre team.
The Donor Centre team plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe collection of donor blood, which is essential for producing life-saving products. In this position, you will assist in the blood collection process, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and documentation requirements. Your efforts will be vital in fostering a positive donor experience and encouraging blood donations.
Key Responsibilities
Utilizing your communication skills, you will manage donor registration and confidential screening to assess eligibility while enhancing the donor experience. With your strong interpersonal abilities, you will provide donors with essential information, guidance, and support regarding blood donation. Drawing from your expertise, you will mentor and support donor centre staff, taking the lead during collection events as necessary. In collaboration with a diverse team, you will assist in the collection of whole blood and/or apheresis blood components that contribute to saving lives. At community mobile events, you will help set up necessary equipment to ensure donor clinics are efficiently organized.Desired Qualifications
Completion of an accredited nursing program and a current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required. A minimum of two years of nursing experience is preferred, along with certification in First Aid and CPR. Experience as a preceptor or in coaching roles is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with the ability to adapt to new systems and software.What We Offer

This position involves working with Whole Blood and Apheresis collections. Potential workdays include weekdays and Saturdays, with specified work hours.
