Role Summary:

As a Physiotherapist in the Critical Care Unit, your role will encompass the evaluation and treatment of physical capabilities, rehabilitation, and the prevention of physical impairments, injuries, or discomfort. You will be responsible for assessing clinical findings, formulating treatment strategies, and offering education and support to patients and their families. This role demands strong communication and interpersonal abilities, along with the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team, and a dedication to continuous professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver patient care in accordance with established physiotherapy standards.
  • Maintain precise patient health documentation and liaise with healthcare team members.
  • Perform administrative tasks and participate in program development and quality enhancement initiatives.
  • Design and execute treatment plans based on clinical assessments.
  • Facilitate educational programs for staff and community organizations.
  • Oversee support staff and engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices in the formulation of care plans and policies.
  • Contribute to teaching, learning, research, and innovation efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited institution; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Registered member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Experience in acute care, particularly with respiratory conditions.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is an asset.
