Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on our fleet of heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Caterpillar and Volvo equipment, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify and repair any deficiencies
  • Teach apprentices skills of the trade and proper techniques of repair
  • Document work performed and complete work orders in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Lead by example with integrity and maintain a safe work environment

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of Powertrains, Electrical troubleshooting, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic Systems, and After treatment Systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to dust, fumes, smoke, gases, odors, and excessive noises. Occasional exposure to chemicals, solvents, grease, or oil and slippery surfaces may also be required.
