We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our team at Nk'Mip Cellars, a premier Indigenous-owned winery in the South Okanagan. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional guest experiences through our award-winning wines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee culinary staffing levels and inventory management to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local farms and purveyors to source high-quality ingredients.
- Lead and mentor direct and indirect reports to achieve exceptional results.
- Design and execute seasonal menus and events that showcase our wines and culinary expertise.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of food and wine pairings to create memorable experiences.
- Implement efficient organizational systems to optimize day-to-day operations.
- Assist in the hiring and training of seasonal staff to ensure a high-performing team.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of previous culinary experience.
- Red Seal Certification an asset.
- Previous private events and catering experience an asset.
- Food Safe Level 2 Certification.
- Expertise in wine and food pairing.
- Excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail.
- Open availability for scheduling.
