Occupational Therapist, Mental Health & Addictions, required to plan, develop, and evaluate mental health and addiction services in a dynamic team environment.

About the Opportunity

The Occupational Therapist will work under the supervision of the Manager, Mental Health & Addictions, and will be responsible for participating in the planning, development, and evaluation of mental health and addiction services. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, and will be able to work effectively in a team environment.

About You
  • Graduate of an accredited University Program in Occupational Therapy
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Occupational Therapy Association
  • Eligible for registration to practice Occupational Therapy in Nova Scotia
  • One year experience as an Occupational Therapist, with at least one year (recent) within the last five, in an inpatient/outpatient Mental Health & Addiction setting
  • Experience in developing collaborative partnerships and initiatives with other agencies and community stakeholders
  • Ability to provide effective Addiction & Mental Health/Occupational Therapy assessment
  • Demonstrated commitment to pursuing continuing education to maintain or enhance professional knowledge
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with patients/residents, families, other healthcare providers, and staff
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
Hours
  • Permanent Full Time position; 75 Hours Bi Weekly
Compensation and Incentives

$42.89 Hourly
