Electrical Estimator/Senior Estimator Job Description

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert electrical estimating and cost planning services to our clients. Your primary focus will be on producing and presenting accurate cost plans, as well as managing estimating and cost planning activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and present comprehensive cost plans for commercial, institutional, and residential projects throughout Canada.
  • Prepare construction cost estimate reports at all stages of design, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Ensure effective cost analysis, cost checking, and valuation work is managed.
  • Participate in value engineering, LEED analysis, and life cycle costing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clients and other consultants to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Prepare mechanical and electrical cost estimates for various asset classes and design levels.
  • Identify opportunities for business development and report to the appropriate line manager.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCad Navisworks, and/or other related software.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Good knowledge of construction procurement methods.
  • Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with business development and key aspects of the industry.
  • Good knowledge and experience gained within multiple industry sectors.
Education/Experience:
  • Experience preparing electrical cost estimates on complex construction projects.
  • Experience managing electrical cost or estimating on data center, high-tech, manufacturing, commercial real estate, or related construction projects.
  • Construction experience with electrical systems.
  • Experience with all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) a plus.
