Position Overview

The Crisis Response Clinical Consultant plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of mental health services. This position is responsible for delivering expert clinical guidance and leadership in various domains, including clinical practice, consultation, supervision, inter-professional collaboration, education, training, quality enhancement, and research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical expertise to address significant clinical challenges within the mental health and addictions framework.
  • Lead efforts to ensure the implementation of evidence-based clinical interventions related to crisis management and post-crisis support.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to promote effective service delivery and improve patient outcomes.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement processes to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of four years of clinical experience in community mental health and addictions services.
  • At least two years of experience in a consultative or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven skills in staff training and development within a dynamic learning environment.
  • Experience in program planning, evaluation, and development is essential.

Educational Requirements

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Certifications

  • Must maintain active registration with the appropriate regulatory body.

Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced knowledge of mental health and addiction practices.
  • Expertise in clinical assessment and various therapeutic models, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in complex scenarios.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships within diverse teams.

Physical Requirements

  • The role may require standing, sitting, and using a computer for extended periods.
  • Light to moderate lifting may be necessary.
