Join Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as a Booking Clerk
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a dedicated Booking Clerk to become part of the Medical Imaging Clerical Support team. This role is essential in facilitating patient appointments and ensuring smooth operations within the department.
Responsibilities of the Booking Clerk at Vancouver Coastal Health include:
Coordinating scheduling and booking tasks for various patient appointments within Radiology. Key duties encompass: arranging appointment times with patients, healthcare providers, nursing units, and technical staff, managing follow-up appointments, retrieving necessary images/films prior to appointments, adjusting schedules to accommodate changing demands, preparing and verifying patient information, entering booking, patient, and image/film data into hospital systems, maintaining requisitions for all bookings, serving as a receptionist to support patient care and address client/family needs.Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Completion of Grade 12, along with two (2) years of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Skills & Competencies
Proficient typing skills at a minimum of 40 wpm. Familiarity with medical terminology. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Effective interpersonal skills. Physical capability to perform the duties required of the position. Organizational skills to manage workload efficiently. Competence in operating relevant equipment.Additional Information
Work hours, including days off and work area, may be subject to change based on operational needs and relevant agreements. Successful candidates may need to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
