Watson Goepel LLP is a comprehensive legal practice with over 35 years of service. Our team consists of more than 35 attorneys across our Vancouver and West Vancouver locations, and we are expanding our reach.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated, full-time associate with a minimum of 4 years of experience in wills, estates, and trusts law to join our welcoming West Vancouver office.
Role Responsibilities
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our senior partner to enhance our flourishing Wills & Estates practice group. Your expertise should include:
- Drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and representation agreements
- Business succession planning
- Estate administration, including probate and intestacy
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a client-centered approach, exceptional analytical abilities, and a keen attention to detail. You should be adept at resolving intricate legal issues using your legal knowledge. We value a personable, diligent individual with an entrepreneurial spirit who is open to leveraging technology for greater efficiency in their practice. Team collaboration is essential, and you must be a member in good standing with the Law Society of BC.
Community Engagement
We prefer candidates who reside in the North Shore area and have strong community ties, as this role involves providing legal guidance to local clients.
Work Environment
We offer a professional and collegial atmosphere, emphasizing excellent mentorship opportunities for associates and fostering a positive office culture. Our mid-sized firm provides the necessary administrative support to facilitate our lawyers' busy practices while maintaining a collaborative, non-hierarchical environment.
Compensation and Benefits
Our compensation model is structured on a lockstep basis for the first five years, with salaries ranging from $100K to $150K. Beyond five years, compensation will align with your experience.
