The Role

We are seeking a Contract Specialist to join our OMERS Legal Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Vice President, Legal, to develop talent and drive initiatives that support our business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Review and negotiate contracts to ensure alignment with our business requirements
  • Create and maintain contract templates to streamline our contracting process
  • Validate contract data to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Manage enterprise third-party risk to protect our business interests
  • Collaborate with business leads and the procurement team to ensure contracts meet our internal requirements
  • Maintain our Contract Lifecycle Management Platform to ensure efficient contract management
  • Partner with team members to drive contract management efficiency projects
  • Support the annual records retention process for the Legal group
  • Contribute to various Legal Operations projects to drive business growth and development

Requirements

  • Strong contract drafting and review experience
  • Minimum 8 years of contracting experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to draw insights and convey ideas clearly and concisely
  • Self-starter who works independently and collaboratively to foster a collegial and creative team culture
  • Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management platforms, iManage, and/or HighQ
