Job Title: Supplier Quality Assurance Lead

Join Safran Landing Systems, a leading aerospace company, as a Supplier Quality Assurance Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our suppliers' products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct audits at suppliers' facilities to ensure compliance with ISO-9001/AS-9100 quality standards.
  • Manage and track corrective actions and 8D reports to resolve audit findings.
  • Review and approve supplier documentation, including DVI/PPAP.
  • Represent the quality assurance team on industrialization teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Manage supplier quality information and approval requests through our system.
  • Enter supplier queries into our system and support suppliers' RFDC submittals and track to closure.
  • Manage supplier non-conformities and concessions, working closely with incoming inspection personnel to resolve quality issues.
  • Follow up on failure analysis reports and corrective action reports to closure and determine liability.
  • Support suppliers in preparing and submitting notice of escape occurrences and support program quality submittals to customers.
  • Present audit meetings with suppliers and discuss corrective actions.
  • Approve SAP DVI/PPAP POs prior to release to suppliers.
  • Extract and provide DVI/PPAP files to suppliers for submittal.
  • Review and approve applicable gates in the DVI/PPAP process.
  • Review, update, and create audit checklists as required.
  • Update and maintain part inspection plans for receiving inspection in SAP.
  • Assist with engineering investigations, liaising between suppliers, engineering, procurement, and purchasing.
  • Support generation and validation of information for company reports.
  • Monitor FAL reports to identify quality trends.
  • Perform supplier quality performance reviews with top-performing suppliers.
  • Support daily QRQC boards, providing feedback and answers to identified issues.
  • Support engineering product investigations requiring supplier discussion/investigation.
  • Perform ASQ self-audits internally.
  • Backup team members during vacations.
  • Raise and close quality notifications in SAP as required by procurement.
  • Review and update SAP part inspection criteria.
  • Manage supplier delegation training requirements.
Requirements:
  • Manufacturing engineering degree preferred, or 5+ years of aerospace part manufacturing experience.
  • Results-oriented and committed to ensuring the integrity of our quality system.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent judgment/decision-making skills.
  • Experience in machining, NDT, special processing, and assembly of landing gear parts and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of raw materials and forgings processes.
  • Trained ISO-9001 lead assessor or previous supplier auditing experience desired.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management and suppliers.
  • Good computer skills, analytical, statistical, and interpretative skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel frequently.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to read drawings and work with Catia models through our Enovia system.
  • Ability to present to suppliers and internal personnel.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments for inspection purposes.
  • Good negotiation skills and time management skills.
