The Coordinator for Youth and Family Programs will oversee all facets of the Youth and Family department initiatives, collaborating closely with other personnel and volunteers to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services that enhance individual, family, and community well-being. This role is hands-on and requires active participation.
Major Responsibilities:
Provide coordination support for various programs and services Organize diverse initiatives that promote and support healthy development for children through nutrition, education, literacy, and programs that assist parents in nurturing healthy families. Assist in the setup of spaces and execution of programs as needed. Ensure quality assurance and consistency in Youth and Family programs Support the management team with general office and administrative tasks as required, demonstrating flexibility in a dynamic work environment. Engage in community outreach and development. Recruit and coordinate program volunteers Schedule and supervise frontline staff Maintain a tidy, organized, and clean environment, including all program areas, common spaces, and washrooms Utilize established systems to record and report on member satisfaction, interest trends, and activities Develop a departmental operating budget in collaboration with the Centre Manager. Monitor the financial health of the department, addressing significant variances promptly. Achieve the annual budget contribution as approved by the Board. Assume a leadership role and duty manager responsibilities regularly for the full branch staff team Plan and execute child and family events both within and outside the facilityRequirements:
Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Physical Education, Recreation Management, Early Childhood Education, or a related field Minimum two years of relevant experience.
